BAND
Lovetape is a band of brothers, connected by a musical force and love for each other. Their music is a shared memory... Friday night at the video store, waiting for a friend’s call at a payphone. A feeling of unresolved nostalgia lives in the songs while still reaching for the digital promise of a future left undelivered.
Brothers Sam and George Stanford came up writing music and playing in bands together in Philadelphia. George moved to Los Angeles after securing a record deal with Mercury records, and the brothers collaborated on George’s major label debut. Growing families and a continent between them made collaboration more difficult and infrequent. But the passion for the music and the desire to create together remained strong...and the songs still came easy. Technology finally caught up to their desire to work together remotely, and Lovetape was born.
In LA, George continued writing and producing music, his songs making appearances in a growing list of tv and films, and became a sound designer and music mixer for top-rated tv shows. These skills inject Lovetape’s productions with a cinematic and dramatic flare. Sam’s heartfelt, clever, and often subversive lyrics are the perfect launchpad and playground for their sound to take shape.
Lovetape is a reunion, but it’s also the continuation... Of two life times spent together. Of two songwriters linked by the bonds of family and music.
